GSEI arose from a 2014 Clinton Foundation sponsored Commitment to Action by entrepreneur W. Michael Short and was featured in “What’s Working: Small Business” by Huffington Post and Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses Initiative. GSEI initiatives have been featured for innovation in the Business & Management Review and at the Obama White House for economic & community impact.

Since its founding in 2014 at the Center of Excellence for Global Engagement & Impact at the Madden School of Business, Le Moyne College, in Syracuse, NY, GSEI has developed a global network of over 500 collaborating organizations.

Building on the momentum of a number of successful initiatives and partnershps, GSEI relocated to New York City in 2016 and continues to collaborate on a number of high profile cross-sector initiatives and ventures like the International Innovators Initiative with the City University of New York.
